Families were treated to an exciting
sports interactive zone with TEAMelbourne’s member clubs at the
Melbourne Racing Club family day on Saturday 9 February.
The Melbourne Football Club,
Melbourne Racing Club, Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Tigers and
Melbourne Vixens each hosted a marquee, which included
giveaways and player appearances from each club.
Kids tried their hand at the skill
tests from all of the sports, and took home some great prizes
including club hats, backpacks, posters, wrist bands and
stickers.
Cameron Smith and Steve
Turner from the Storm made an appearance on the day, teaching
kids some passing skills; the Demons gave the kids some
hand-balling tips; Renae Hallinan, Madison Browne, Natasha Chokljat
and Sharni Layton showed their stuff with some netball
shooting, and Tigers development players Matt O’Hea, Adrien Sturt
and Bo Westover had some fun shooting hoops with the excited kids,
plus guest appearances from team mascots Tiger Man, Storm Man and
Ronald Dee-Man.
TEAMelbourne invited all kids on the
day to sign up for their upcoming free Mega Clinic at Melbourne
Park on Wednesday 2 April 2008. If you’d like to take part in the
free clinic to learn about basketball, netball, football and rugby;
